Steubenville Herald Star, Jan. 10, 1884 – An Old Pioneer Mother Dead – Mrs. Mary Simeral, one of the oldest and most esteemed residents of Jefferson Co. died Sat. morning Jan. 5, at the advanced age of eighty-one years, on the old homestead farm near Bloomfield, where she resided for sixty-one years. She was the daughter of Wm. Ferguson, who was a pioneer resident near West Middleton, Washington Co., Pa. and relict of Archibald Simeral, whose parents were early settlers of Westmoreland Co., Pa., to whom she was married in May, 1844 leaving her a widow for forty years. Seven children, twenty-nine grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren. One if her children, Wm. F.
