Miss Theresa Myers, daughter of Mr. Morris Myers, died yesterday afternoon at 3 o’clock. She had been ill for some three years with dropsy and enlargement of the heart. She was born July 3rd, 1857, and was a most estimable Christian lady, a member of Kramer Chapel, and went down into death with a spirit of sweet resignation to the will of her Master
Daily Herald, Jan. 4, 1861 – Died yesterday, (Sunday) January 13, 1861, Mrs. Eve Myers in the 97th year of her age. She was born in the State of Maryland, 1764- emigrated to Washington Co., PA and was a resident of that county during the Revolutionary War, with many of the events which she was familiar – and subsequently, in the year 1800, removed to the vicinity of Steubenville, where she resided until the day of her death. Her funeral will take place from her late residence, about one mile west of this city, to-morrow at 2 o’clock, p.m. The friends and public are respectfully invited to attend.
John Myers {Steubenville Daily Herald April 22, 1861} “Run Over and Killed—An Elderly man, of this city, named John Myers, who worked at the shoemaking business with Mr. Alexander, and has been run over and half killed nearly half a dozen times, by the cars passing along our streets, was run over and instantly killed by the down train of the C & P RR at 9:35 a.m. today, while walking along the track a short distance above the city. Mr. Myers was very deaf.”
