 The following obituary from the  Steubenville, Weekly Herald, Jan 2, 1913, pg. 4.

The funeral services of John Barrett were held on Sunday, Rev. I.E. Miller officiating.  The pallbearers were, J.T. Stewart, George Barthold, W.A. Clifton, J. (?) Maple, John George, J.W. Sanders.

John Barrett, 70 years old, place of birth listed as Ohio. Cause of his death was heart exhaustion, occupation listed as steel worker.  Listed as a veteran (not listed with the Civil War Veterans Cemetery Records).

John enlisted as a private in Company F, of the 25th OVI on June 13th, 1861 and was honorably discharged with a disability in Baltimore, MD on August 9th, 1862.

Jefferson County, Federal Census

John Barrett was born 18 Dec 1842 in Steubenville, Ohio and married Harriet Atkinson (of Brooke County, VA, now WV) on the 19 of April 1864.  They are found in the 1870 census in Steubenville, Jefferson County, with six children listed as:

5.      Ellen born 22 Sept 1875
