OBIT
The many old friends of JAMES D. WILSON, sone of the "late" SAMUEL WILSON will sincerely regret to learn of his death, which occurred in New York City Thursday, as the result of Bright's disease. He was born in Steubenville and was in his 47th year.

From Weekly Gazette Steubenville Newspaper
Week of Friday May 4, 1888

SAMUEL WILSON, one of the oldest and most prominent citizens of Steubenville, died at his residence on North Fourth Street Thursday night at 9 o'clock, aged 83 years. Mr. Wilson was born in Ireland of Scotch parentage, and came to this country when quite young. He learned the tin and coppersmith trade in this city and carried on that business here for many years, but for the past twenty years he had not been in active business pursuits. He was a good citizen, honest and honorable at all times. He lived an upright life and died without blemish on his character. He leaves a widow who was the daughter of JAMES DICK and a sister of the late MRS. COL. G.W. McCOOK. His only children are JAMES, of the West Shore R.R Co. of New York, and EMMA at home. SAMUEL McKEE, WILSON McKEE, and JOHN and HENRY WILSON are nephews. The funeral took place on Sunday.
